We are seeking an Experienced Union Benefits Analyst to join our team. The Union Benefits Analyst is responsible for managing and administering multistate union benefits processes, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements, and maintaining accurate benefit records. This role requires a strong understanding of union benefit structures, payroll deductions, and compliance requirements. This is Hybrid role in Bridgewater, NJ.
Responsibilities:
- Administer union benefit programs, including health, retirement, pension, and other negotiated benefits
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of union collective bargaining agreements
- Process union benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations within required timelines, ensuring accuracy and compliance with CBAs and regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure proper deductions for benefits are taken from union employees’ paychecks, including health, pension, and union dues.
- Coordinate with payroll and HR teams to verify correct benefit enrollments and deductions
- Support payroll and HR teams with union-related benefit audits and compliance checks
- Maintain accurate records of union benefit enrollments and transactions
- Assist in audit preparation and support internal and external audits regarding union benefits and related records.
- Coordinate with payroll and HR teams to verify correct benefit enrollments and deductions
- Assist with monitoring changes to regulations, benefits programs, and union contracts to ensure benefits administration remains compliant and up to date.
- Maintain accurate records for all union benefit programs, including benefits elections, deductions, and contributions.
- Reconcile monthly accruals versus payments and research any discrepancies
- Prepare reports and documentation related to union benefits for audits, reconciliations, and management review
- Conduct regular benefit reconciliations to ensure proper deductions and contributions
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to union benefits, including incorrect deductions, eligibility issues, or errors in benefit coverage.
- Collaborate with the payroll department to ensure that any benefit-related payroll discrepancies are promptly addressed.
- Coordinate with union representatives to resolve issues, ensuring that union members' concerns are handled efficiently and effectively.
- Work closely with the Union Benefits Manager to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and ensure all benefit-related tasks are completed within deadlines.
- Partner with HR, payroll, and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely benefits processing, data entry, and compliance.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in union benefits administration, payroll, or HR operations
- Strong understanding of collective bargaining agreements and benefit compliance
- Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems (UKG experience a plus)
- Strong MS Excel skills required (VLOOKUPS and PIVOTS)
- Good communication skills and able to work with different management levels
- Ability to work within deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Must be detail oriented and have strong analysis and communications skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Proficiency in UKG (Payroll Software) a plus
- Union experience with 32BJ, Local 94, or Local 68 is strongly preferred.
